Chloé launches ‘instant resale’ using digital IDs on Vestiaire Collective

Chloé rolls out Digital IDs that open up access to product traceability information, repair assistance and resale options.

Chloé Vertical will roll out with the Richemont house’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection, featuring Digital IDs, powered by EON, that open up access to product and material information, repair assistance and resale options.

Bags, shoes and ready-to-wear in the SS23 Chloé Vertical collection use 100 percent traceable materials and are equipped for Instant Resale, which, according to Chloé, is an industry-first. Resale through Chloé Vertical will be hosted by Vestiaire Collective, its exclusive partner, which will offer a price to sellers once they’ve uploaded product imagery and details (through a pre-filled listing form) and then be able to deliver payment immediately before the product has necessarily sold.

Digital ID technology has been gaining traction as a tool to promote sustainability in fashion, with brands such as Levi’s, Mulberry, Ralph Lauren and Another Tomorrow, as well as Gabriela Hearst’s eponymous label, using the technology to enable supply chain traceability.

"The way I see it, once you buy a product, you know everything about that product. Then you want to resell it, you just click on your Digital ID and instantly resell it."
